Concordia’s Center for Hmong Studies will be hosting the 2nd Biennial International Conference on Hmong Studies April 11-13, 2008. The conference will attract scholars who will present their research on Hmong studies in an effort to encourage students to do scholarly research. It will also offer the opportunity to share and receive recognition for their scholarly work. (more…)

Campus ministry associate Andrew Jones is running down the road of success. Jones (’06) has his undergraduate degree in Theology, works as Concordia’s campus ministry associate and is studying in the Master of Arts in Christian Outreach (MACO) program offered through Concordia by the Oswald Hoffmann School of Christian Outreach (OHSCO).

The College of Business and Organizational Leadership recently launched a new Public Safety and Security program focused on emergency management. The new program will examine strategies for managing timely issues that range from terrorism and biohazards to severe weather and infectious disease. (more…)
This year’s fun-packed homecoming on Sept. 22 boasted a 50 percent attendance increase over last year. Attendees participated in many events and activities including the Alumni Awards Banquet, Alumni Art Show, Street Party, 5th Annual Wurst Und ’Kraut Eating Contest, football game against University of Mary and volleyball game against Southwest State.

CSP students are gaining hands-on experience in the medical field thanks to a partnership between Concordia University and Regions Hospital. Tight on space at its own facility, Regions Hospital last year arranged to send 10-15 of its Cardiac Phase 3 patients to the Gangelhoff Center three times a week for rehabilitation services supervised by hospital staff. Cardiac Phase 3 is the last stage of recovery for patients recovering from heart attack or related ailments, during which they engage in low level, medically supervised fitness activities. The initial arrangement went so well that Regions and Concordia recently formalized a three-year partnership to continue their work with patients.
