No, it’s the class of 1958’s Friends Forever group modeling silver fox furs as they visited the Fromm Brothers’ Fur Farm in rural Merrill, Wis. Condolences
To the family of Rev. Norman F. Spomer (’42), who passed away peacefully in his home on Jan. 26, 2007. Spomer’s first congregation was in Saskatchewan, Canada, followed by congregations in North Dakota and Wisconsin. He retired from Christ Lutheran Church in Eagan, Minn., but continued to serve as an interim and guest pastor in many congregations. Recently, he rejoiced in performing the baptism of his second great-grandchild. (more…)

Concordia Grads Make Trinity Lone Oak a Blue Ribbon School
The achievement itself is commendable: Trinity Lone Oak was one of only nine schools in the state of Minnesota to receive the award, and the only faith-based school. It joined an elite cadre of only 50 private schools nationwide to receive the award. (more…)

Werning Honored for Leadership in Church Growth
Dr. Waldo Werning (Acad. ‘39, JC ‘41) received the Donald A. McGavran Award for Outstanding Leadership in Church Growth by the American Society for Church Growth at their annual conference in Kansas City, Kan., on Nov. 2, 2006. McGavran, who has been described as the father of the church growth movement, served as a missionary in India for nearly three decades and espoused aggressive evangelism with an emphasis on the Great Commission.
