First Day of School for Inaugural MBA Cohort

It was a day of firsts for Concordia University on Nov.16, 2006. It was the first class meeting for the University’s first Master of Business Administration cohort.

They were gathered on-campus for their Leadership Seminar and their first introduction to strategic planning tools available only to Concordia’s MBA students thanks to an exclusive collegiate partnership with nationally known author and futurist Dr. Joel Barker and the Institute for Strategic Exploration.

The partnership gives students access to cutting-edge strategic planning software developed by Barker, including the Institute’s Strategy Matrix® and Implications Wheel® software.

Utilized for the duration of the degree program, the Strategy Matrix and Implications Wheel give students significant tools to explore business design strategies, examine long-term implications of strategies, and develop effective business models.

“The Concordia MBA program was designed for learners with strong business and leadership experience who are on their way to becoming senior executives and business leaders,” said Dr. Robert DeGregorio, dean of the College of Business and Organizational Leadership. “This is the level of career growth at which emerging senior executives wish to augment their credentials with a program that will enhance strategic leadership characteristics.”
