1950s Class Notes

Leroy “Skip” E.Vogel (’56) recently published his first novel Constant Skip VogelBearing-Decreasing Range: The Collision of Public Policy and National Defense. Amazon.com reports,“Vogel’s provocative book is sure to appeal to military, historians, and civilians alike. Thrillingly written and grippingly told, this novel is part social study, part romance and a totally unique page turner.” Skip served in the Navy for more than 20 years and spent 14 years at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, as dean of students and professor of Historical Theology. His book is available at national bookstores. Skip and Gloria (Gerike ‘57) Vogel live in Spring Valley, Minn. They have four children and 12 grandchildren.

Sylvia (Wenger ‘56) Franzmeier has been awarded the
“Angels in Adoption Award” by the Congressional Coalition
on Adoption.The award was presented by a member
of Congress on Sept. 20, 2006, in Washington D.C.
